Why is my nose itching?

So far everything is going well here in Illinois. I've been staying with Jenn, hanging out with my family & friends. Having lots of fun. Still no job, but I am working on that & know it will come in time. My nose is itching, does that mean someone is thinking about me or talking about me?

I talked to my friend Rita in Alabama yesterday where it was 80 degrees at her house. I finally know how my mom felt when I would brag to her how nice the weather was in the South compared to Central Illinois. JEALOUS! It is actually pleasant today.

Things are different here, mostly it is the landscape and people. Almost all of the beautiful Autumn leaves have fallen but there is still a lot of crops in the field. This has been a wet season. As I drove into Lexington today there were many farm trucks filled with corn lined up at the grain elevator. The sight is so "small town" and brings a smile to my face. There are no stop lights in this town, Main Street has yellow flags on the street lights for our Lexington Soldiers. Along with "GO PURPLE" signs. Normally, Lexington High School would be having a game tonight, but they have made it to the playoffs so the game is tomorrow. This town isn't too small, hey we have a McDonald's but you can't get a milkshake at this location. wth? So my search to find my Daddy a 3:00 snack lead to me "The Filling Station" restaurant located on Main St and Old Route 66. I worked there in high school & you can buy a milkshake there any day of the year.

I cracked up while reading this. I can see you driving down Rt 66 into Lexington, seeing the yellow flags on the poles and the purple signs (Go Purple--beat LeRoy!) and the filling station and yes, it's unbelievablel you can't get a fricken milkshake at the McD's!! I hope you liked your visit to our little town we both lived in. I will be visiting it tomorrow for the game!! Love ya! Deb J.
